Welcome Arnold !!

Thanks for yours opinion and pictures. I think that is amazing that we can know each other, now we can know our faces too...:)
Until we see ours picture we only imagine how we are. :) The possibility that we have to study together still when we live all around the world, it was very difficult to thought, only a few years ago. I agree with you, we learn English but at the same time we learn about our different cultures and I think this is great! Thanks again for your comments and please think that is your blog and you can write and send picture each time that you want. It will be welcome!

Hi, Diana,

Thanks to your painstaking efforts, now we students and faculty members of GE can use your blog as a forum to exchange ideas and get a better understanding of each other as well. In the meanwhile, I strongly believe that your blog also offers us a golden opportunity to practice our writing skills.

Language learning is really rewarding and fun. In my opinion, when your are learning a language , you are going more or less into a different culture. Therefore, we should not noly learn the language well, but also the culture that dominates the language.

Fortunately, we students meet a lot of qualified and experienced teachers here at GE. Personally, I think I have made some progress, especially in communication skills in English learning since I came here in March this year. However, I do know that I still need to spare no sfforts to push myself to do better in the long process of the language learning. But the vivacious learning experience at GE with the teachers is really memorable.Whatever the final result of my English learning is, I will surely cherish all of these deep in my heart and appreciate the teachers' help forever. I sincerely hope that I can meet some of them someday in the future in real life and express my hearty thanks to them face to face.

Diana, thanks again for your nice blog and hope it can be better and better.

With warmest regards

Hi Ana,

I thought I'd add a few links to your site, so that you and other students at GlobalEnglish can see some of the beautiful places that you can visit here in England.

First of all, there are some wonderful photos of the Peak District National Park here: http://www.peakphotos.co.uk/. I live just twenty minutes from this park, and my family and I often go here for long walks.

The Peak District is actually in the north of England, but I'm originally from the Midlands, and grew up living near one of the most beautiful medieval castles in Europe called Warwick Castle: http://www.cv81pl.freeserve.co.uk/warwick.htm.

Warwick is just a few miles from Stratford-upon-Avon, where Shakespeare was born: http://www.cv81pl.freeserve.co.uk/stratford.htm. As you will be able to see from the pictures, there are a lot of thatched cottages. In fact, I lived in one as a child!

Good luck with your site!

Bravo, Ana,

This is a great web page. I've seen several of my students and that is always nice.

I live in Alameda, California which is an island across the bay from the city of San Francisco. I love my home; it's peaceful and lovely.

I have one son, Marty, who is 29 years old. We get together often. I miss him when I don't see him for a while.

I have taught ESL for about 25 years, first, in a government boarding school in Mali, NW Africa. I taught English to immigrants in a public high school in Oakland for 18 years. This was challenging and a little stressful but it was wonderful to have students speaking English in just a short period of time.

I look forward to seeing you in the Global English chatroom. And thanks, Ana, for your hard work on this site.

Hi Ana,
Learning english is allways very useful. I am chilean (and I live in Chile), but my grandparents were from Scotland, so I heard english being spoken ever since I was born.
I like your country and it´s people very much. I have been to Mendoza a couple of times and I think it is a very beautiful city. Maybe next time I go, we can get to know each other.
Keep practicing, it´s the only way to improve.
Regards,
