<p>Hi, Diana,</p> <p>Thanks to your painstaking efforts, now we students and faculty members of GE can use your blog as a forum to exchange ideas and get a better understanding of each other as well. In the meanwhile, I strongly believe that your blog also offers us a golden opportunity to practice our writing skills.</p> <p>Language learning is really rewarding and fun. In my opinion, when your are learning a language , you are going more or less into a different culture. Therefore, we should not noly learn the language well, but also the culture that dominates the language.</p> <p>Fortunately, we students meet a lot of qualified and experienced teachers here at GE. Personally, I think I have made some progress, especially in communication skills in English learning since I came here in March this year. However, I do know that I still need to spare no sfforts to push myself to do better in the long process of the language learning.But the vivacious learning experience at GE with the teachers is really memorable.Whatever the final result of my English learning is, I will surely cherish all of these deep in my heart and appreciate the teachers' help forever. I've seen several of my students and that is always nice. </p> <p>I live in Alameda, California which is an island across the bay from the city of San Francisco. I love my home; it's peaceful and lovely. </p> <p>I have one son, Marty, who is 29 years old. We get together often. I miss him when I don't see him for a while.</p> <p>I have taught ESL for about 25 years, first, in a government boarding school in Mali, NW Africa. I taught English to immigrants in a public high school in Oakland for 18 years. This was challenging and a little stressful but it was wonderful to have students speaking English in just a short period of time.</p> <p>I look forward to seeing you in the Global English chatroom.
